Beachcombing A-Grade Finds

Started steadily beach combing over the last few months with Fred and Max, parsing past shells and sand in pursuit of bits of bottles and trash and plastic and bone and other little things gradually softened by the licks of many waves. A bread clip from 2007, a tea spoon bent out of shape, a thick black piece of pirate’s glass from the 1800’s that is hardly distinguishable from a rock, but glows green if you place it in front of the sun.
Out there by the sea it’s usually bitter cold. We stumble down shore for hours, eyes-down tracing the residual bands left every morning by the tides. Here’s my personal favorites selection of my recent finds from various Rhode Island beaches.
